Onftlfo Plf'4rro drew up his Army in ·a certa~n place of that Valley , having á. River behind not very broad, and a craggy Motihfain, and both fo met to• gether, that ch~ fimation was naturally íl:rong, and covered the Army·o.n all quar- rers ín fuch rnaimer that it could not be attacked in the rere nor on either fide, but on the front onely. This River, rnwards the Motintain, is fortified with greáé Wacer-galls, raufed by chc;: íl:reams which fall from above: between which and the River Pifarro pitched bis Tenes, leaving the Plain between che Water-galls and Mountain free and open for drawing up the Army: The Prefident ( as we havé (aid ) making fhort marches , arrived in this Valley three days after Pifarro; and three days paffed with fmall skirmifhes and piqueering bétween fmall parties 5 which were of no great moment; by which time all the Imperial Army wascorne up.
