The CuracM drank of anorher Cup, though ~>f the fame fort of Liquour, prepared by che Wives of the Sun; which was not eíleemed fo holy and facred as that which was confecrared by the Inca himfelf. . This Ceremony being performed, which was but an Ant<';paíl: to what rhey had afterwards to drink, they proceeded all in their order to che Temple of the Sun; and being about two hundred paces from che <loor, chey ali (except t11e King) pulled off rhi.:ir Shoes, and walked to the Gate of the Temple. Then che Inca, and all his Kindred, enrred in, and performed, as legitimate Children, rheit' Obeifance and Adoration to che Image of the Sun; whilíl: che Cumas, a~ un- worrhy of fo great a Privilege, attended wichout in the great Court, which was before che Gare of che Temple. Then che Inca offered wirh his own hand thofe Veífels ofGold with which he had pet:fo~rned rhis Ceremony ; and che other Inw delivered theirs into che hands of the Pi:ieíls, who were Incas and pa1 icularly nominared and dedicated t0 the Sun; for it VI as not lawfull for any I11ca to officiate at chis holy Service, who was a Secular, or not ordained to this facred Funétion. When che Prieíl:s had thus received the Cbalices from che Inca.s, cbey went afterwards to the Gace, to F f 2 cake
